ALL-TIME SERIES
El Paso and OCSC have squared off six times in the regular season, with the record standing slightly in favor of Locomotive at 2-1-3. El Paso are undefeated against OCSC in two matches at Southwest University Park, which includes Locomotive’s historic first win in its 2019 inaugural season.
EL PASO LOCOMOTIVE FC (7TH WESTERN CONFERENCE, 1-3-1, 4 PTS)
Following an exit from the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, Locomotive shift their focus back to the Championship as it looks to pick up points for a third consecutive match.
Despite a slow start to 2023, El Paso has managed to pick up four points in its last two games. Most recently against FC Tulsa in a 2-2 draw, forward Luis Solignac scored both goals to open his 2023 account and become the club’s all-time leader in regular season goals with 28. He’s two goals shy of surpassing fellow teammate Aaron Gomez (29) as El Paso’s leading goal scorer in all competitions.
Solignac was named to Team of the Week – Week 4 for his performance and his second goal against Tulsa, a left-footed rocket from outside the penalty box, was nominated for Goal of the Week – Week 4.
Locomotive last welcomed Orange County SC for the final home game of the 2022 season and won 2-1. Scorers for El Paso in that match were Solignac and former defender Andrew Fox, who joined Orange County in the offseason. Notably, Solignac scored in both games against OCSC last season.
ORANGE COUNTY SC (10TH WESTERN CONFERENCE, 0-1-3, 3 PTS)
Orange County SC are still looking for their first win in the regular season, having lost their home opener and following that up with three consecutive draws, giving up the lead twice in its four games and being unable to record a clean sheet thus far.
Orange County SC is still looking to turn around a forgettable 2022 season, in which they finished bottom of the conference with a 7-14-13 record after managing to win the league in 2021. In their last 10 regular season games, OCSC has only picked up one win, a 1-0 scoreline against Los Angeles Galaxy II on September 10, 2022. The last time they won a match away from home was July 23, 2022, also against LA Galaxy II.
Forward Milan Iloski looks like he will step up big for his team once again. The 2022 Championship Golden Boot winner and All-League First Team selection currently has two goals and one assist to his name. He’ll be looking to add another goal to his name on Saturday, as that’ll put him over the line to become OSCS’s top goal scorer in regular season history.
UP NEXT: Saturday, April 22 vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Kickoff 7:30 p.m. MT @ Southwest University Park, gates open at 6:30 p.m. MT. Purchase tickets here. Locomotive invites fans to come celebrate Earth Day for its match against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and enjoy a fun and educational night spotlighting sustainability practices!
ON THE HORIZON: Saturday, April 29 at San Diego Loyal SC. Kickoff 8 p.m. MT @ Torero Stadium. Locomotive make their way to SoCal as they seek out their first ever win against San Diego Loyal SC. El Paso Head Coach and Technical Director Brian Clarhaut is set to be reunited with Loyal’s Ronaldo Damus and Joe Corona, players under his leadership in Sweden at GIF Sundsvall.
