EL PASO, TEXAS – August 29, 2026 – El Paso Locomotive FC defeated Loudoun United FC 4-1 on Saturday night, grabbing another three points and extending the win streak to six games.
It was a fast start for Locomotive, as Rubio Rubín netted the opening goal in the fifth minute. Rubín slammed home the rebound after Loudoun’s goalkeeper was unable to hold onto a long-range shot from Eric Calvillo.
Loudoun responded in the 17th minute, as Abdellatif Akinyode slipped a shot inside the near post and past Abraham Romero to level the score.
Rubín restored Locomotive’s lead in the 38th minute, getting on the end of a defensive clearance from Loudoun and heading the ball home. Just 10 minutes later, Rubín completed his hat trick from the penalty spot after Gabi Torres was brought down in the box, giving El Paso a two-goal advantage heading into halftime.
Locomotive carried its 3-1 lead into second-half stoppage time, where Carl Sainté added a fourth goal for El Paso. Sainté calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net for his first goal of the season, sealing another victory for Locomotive.
Locomotive will face Louisville City FC on the road for its next matchup on Saturday, September 12. Kickoff is set for 5:00pm MT.
