EL PASO, TEXAS – September 24, 2026 – El Paso Locomotive FC announced today the signing of goalkeeper Trace Alphin to a contract for the remainder of the 2026 USL Championship season per the league’s emergency goalkeeper clause. Per club policy, the terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
“Trace is a great addition to our roster; his profile fits our style of play perfectly, and he comes from a top developmental MLS team,” said Head Coach Junior Gonzalez. “He has been training under an MLS/USNT legend, Nick Rimando, for the past two seasons. We look forward to integrating him into our team in this final push for playoffs.”
Alphin joins El Paso after spending the past two seasons with Real Monarchs SLC of MLS NEXT Pro. During his time with the club, he made 14 appearances, totaling 1,212 minutes.
Prior to joining the Real Monarchs organization, the 23-year-old spent four seasons at Wake Forest University, where he appeared in 77 matches for the Demon Deacons, compiling a 44-20-13 record. Across his collegiate career, Alphin recorded a 1.10 goals-against average and a 69.1 save percentage.
