Ousmane Sylla opened the scoring in the 26th minute to give the hosts the lead before Garrison Tubbs added a second in the 61st minute. Orange County goalkeeper Alex Rando finished with 10 saves to earn the clean sheet.

El Paso Locomotive FC and Monterey Bay FC most recently met on June 20, when Monterey Bay claimed a 1-0 victory at Cardinale Stadium. The match remained scoreless through 90 minutes before Paul Gindiri netted the game-winner in the first minute of second-half stoppage time.

El Paso’s 2-0 win over Sporting JAX on Saturday, July 25 marked the first regular season win at home for Locomotive since its 3-2 win over Las Vegas Lights FC on April 4. Forward Amando Moreno was a key factor in both wins, scoring a brace against Las Vegas and netting the opening goal against Sporting JAX.

El Paso Locomotive FC and Monterey Bay FC have already met twice this season, with each side earning one victory. Locomotive claimed the first meeting with a 3-0 win, while Monterey Bay evened the season series with a 1-0 victory. In El Paso’s win, the club’s leading trio all found the back of the net as Alex Méndez opened the scoring in the 21st minute before Rubio Rubín added another in the 51st and Amando Moreno capped the night two minutes later.
