EL PASO, Texas (May 17, 2024) – Despite playing in an evenly contested match, El Paso Locomotive FC fell 2-1 to Memphis 901 FC at Southwest University Park Friday night.
Los Locos would open the scoring in the 24′, with Miles Lyons seemingly putting the ball into the back of the net before it was ruled an own goal off Memphis’ Akeem Ward.
Memphis missed some clear chances in the Locomotive box throughout the first half, but would score the equalizer five minutes later after Locomotive got theirs in the net, with Marlon Santos connecting the header off a Oscar Jimenez corner.
Unfortunately, despite a hard-fought effort in the second half, Los Locos would concede in the final seconds of the match to record their eighth loss of the season.
