EL PASO, Texas – After a strong loan stint at the end of the 2023 USL Championship season, El Paso Locomotive FC announced today that it has signed defender Noah Dollenmayer from Los Angeles FC 2 of MLS Next Pro. Per Club policy, details of the transfer have not been made public and is pending league and federation approval.
“We saw how important he was this past year stepping in immediately on loan to help secure our defensive game when we were struck with injuries and he was a key reason we were able to secure a playoff position in 2023,” Head Coach and Technical Director Brian Clarhaut said. “We look forward to being able to work with Noah and to continue to develop his game. He is a top professional who wants to continue to get better each day and we are happy to have him with us for 2024.”
The 6’6” 24-year-old initially arrived in El Paso in late August to help fill a gap in central defense. In his Locomotive debut against Hartford Athletic, Dollenmayer’s three clearances and six possession recoveries across a 90-minute performance were big in helping El Paso snap a 10-game winless streak.
Dollenmayer then went on to start the remainder of Locomotive’s 2023 matches and scored his first professional goal off a header in the season finale at Oakland Roots SC, which would prove to be the crucial game winner that launched El Paso’s return to the USL Championship Playoffs.
“I loved my time with El Paso last season and I’m excited to be back for 2024,” Dollenmayer said. “My teammates, the staff and the fans made it feel like home from the moment I arrived. Everything about my experience was enjoyable, from the team’s competitiveness and clinching playoffs to scoring my first goal. We have so much to look forward to with this new group being built and I can’t wait to get back to work.”
Dollenmayer was a third-round pick for LAFC (#87 overall) in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. He played in 16 matches for LAFC2 throughout the 2023 MLS Next Pro season and made two starting appearances with the first team during the club’s 2023 Open Cup run against Monterey Bay FC (USL Championship) and cross-town rivals LA Galaxy (MLS).
Future roster transactions will be announced as Locomotive prepares for its sixth season in the USL Championship.
