El Paso Locomotive FC trounced Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC with a 2-0 game series win in the USL eCup: Rocket League Edition on Friday. GK Logan Ketterer led the Texas side earning back-to-back clean sheets in the best-of-three series while tallying an outstanding 40 goals.
Locomotive FC got off to an explosive start with Ketterer finding the back of the frame four times within the first minute to set the tone of the final group stage match. From there, the goals kept coming for the man-between-the pipes as he unleashed an unrelenting attack through a possession game that kept Pittsburgh without a shot on target. With a dominating force, Ketterer continued to find the goal with ease to close out game one with a 21-0 scoreline.
The high-octane pressure from Locomotive FC continued after the break, as Ketterer put the pedal to the metal on his goal scoring trend. While trying to get fancy with a few flips and an attempt at a bicycle kick, Ketterer was still able to hold on to the possession game, keeping Riverhounds SC without a shot on goal to keep the clean sheet. The aggressive style of play paid off for the Texas side, as Ketterer was able to tally 19 goals while conceding none, including a back-bumper goal that pushed the ball to the far post.
The dominating victory over Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC puts El Paso Locomotive FC in prime position to claim second in Group 4 of the group stages to advance into the knockout rounds. All eyes turn now towards San Antonio FC and Rio Grande Valley FC for the result.
