
EL PASO, Texas – June 19, 2018– The 2018 FIFA World Cup is in full swing and people across the world are talking about the exciting soccer that is unfolding at the tournament. With games for El Paso USL not starting until 2019, the club is hosting World Cup Watch Parties to bring a little bit of the world’s game to the Borderland.
Last Friday, fans were invited to watch Spain vs. Portugal at Southwest University Park. Fans filled the Big Dog House to watch an exciting 3-3 draw where Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hat trick.
For an early match on Father’s Day this past Sunday, fans of both Mexico and Germany joined the club at Brass Monkey. It was evident that Mexico fans outnumbered the Germans when Mexico’s Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano scored the first, and only, goal in the 1-0 upset.
The excitement continues as El Paso USL will host three more watch parties at Brass Monkey. Fans of all teams are invited to enjoy food and drink specials and watch Mexico take on South Korea this Saturday at 9AM, the Semi-final match on July 10, and the Final on July 15.
