EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC midfielder Petar Petrovic has won the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week – Week 7, the first Locomotive player to win a Goal of the Week honor since former midfielder Diego Luna did so last April.
Petrovic opened the scoring for Locomotive in its 2-0 win over Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC to extend its unbeaten run to four games.
Petrovic brought down a beautiful 45-yard cross from midfielder Denys Kostyshyn and tapped it in past Riverhounds goalkeeper Jahmali Waite, who could only stand and watch as the ball went into the net.
This is the second goal for Petrovic since he joined Locomotive for the 2023 season and continues to show how big of an addition he is to a side looking to make a return to the playoffs.
Petrovic and Los Locos return to action this Saturday, April 29 as they prepare to defend their four-game unbeaten run against a San Diego Loyal SC side who have yet to drop points at Torero Stadium. Catch the match on ESPN+, kickoff at 8 p.m. MT.
