El Paso Locomotive FC, alongside the USL Championship announced today that two Locos are featured on Team of the Week. Midfielder Ricardo Zacarias and Forward Luis Solignac each earned a spot on the starting eleven for week 23 after an untiring performance against Colorado Springs.
In a match that extended El Paso’s undefeated streak against Colorado Springs to 17, Solignac’s name first appeared on the stat sheet in the 53rd minute with his assist to Dylan Mares to open the Loco scoring train. Solignac would find one of his own four minutes later after a crafty left-footed one-touch shot found the back of the net.
In the 65th minute Zacarias was thundering towards the Colorado Springs goal when he cut it back and looked up to find Mares with a perfectly placed pass to give Mares his second of the night. Two minutes later, both Locomotive Team of the Week players linked up for the fourth El Paso goal of the evening. Zacarias ran onto a beautifully sent through ball in the Switchbacks 18-yard box. After a bounce he sent it across the face of the goal to find an unmarked Solignac who hit a textbook volley ripping the ball into the goal.
Solignac would end the night with two goals, one assist and Zacarias notched two assists in the 4-4 draw on the road. This is Solignac’s fourth team of the week appearance and the first for Zacarias.
