EL PASO, TEXAS – August 18, 2026 – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Alex Méndez has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week and named the Player of the Week for Week 24. Jimmy Farkarlun and Amando Moreno have also earned spots on the Team of the Week bench, while Head Coach Junior Gonzalez was named Coach of the Week.
Méndez recorded a brace in El Paso’s 3-0 win over San Antonio FC on Saturday, opening the scoring with a stunning strike that found the top corner. He finished the match with three shots on target and two chances created to help lead Locomotive to the road victory.
Farkarlun added Locomotive’s third goal of the night, slotting the ball home at the back post after Moreno’s cross found its way through the box.
Moreno assisted on both Méndez’s opening goal and Farkarlun’s tally, recording his first two assists of the season. He also added two shots on target and created four chances of his own in the victory.
