Rubio Rubín scored the lone goal just nine minutes into the match, connecting on the end of a cross from Jimmy Farkarlun. The Loco defense stood strong for the remainder of the match to earn the clean sheet.

El Paso hosted San Antonio FC earlier this season at Southwest University Park, falling 3-2. San Antonio jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Rubio Rubín pulled one back in first-half stoppage time to send Locomotive into the halftime break down by just one. Beto Avila scored a stunner of a goal in the 55th minute to tie the match for Locomotive, but a late goal from Cristian Parano secured the victory for San Antonio.

El Paso Locomotive FC holds a 4-8-4 all-time record against San Antonio FC, including a 1-3-1 record in the last five meetings. Locomotive have conceded two or more goals in each of the last four matchups, including a series-high five goals in a 5-2 loss on October 25, 2025. El Paso’s last win over San Antonio came on June 5, 2024, when Brandan Craig scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory.

Rubio Rubín scored his tenth goal of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Oakland Roots SC. He is now tied for third place in the golden boot race. Only Darren Smith (12) of Detroit City FC and Khori Bennett (11) of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC have more goals in the USL Championship this season than Rubín.

Abraham Romero recorded a third straight clean sheet with the 1-0 victory over Oakland Roots SC. Romero has recorded five saves across the three games, including three in the win over Oakland, the most by a Locomotive goalkeeper since the 1-0 loss to Monterey Bay FC on June 20.
