EL PASO, Texas (October 28, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Eric Calvillo earned a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 34 after his performance against San Antonio FC last Saturday.

Calvillo recorded his first multi-assist match for Locomotive bringing him up to four in league play, good for second on the team. He completed 44 of 49 passes including 16 of 19 in the final third while also winning two tackles and three of five duels.

EL PASO, Texas (October 14, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Sebastian Mora-Mora earned a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 32 after his six-save performance in a 2-1 win over Lexington SC last Saturday.

The six saves for Mora-Mora were tied for his most on the season (Monterey Bay – June 21). His last one in the 93^rd minute protected the one-goal lead for Los Locos and helped them hang on and move into fourth place in the Western Conference.

EL PASO, Texas (October 7, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Amando Moreno and Eric Calvillo were both selected to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 31 after a four-point week for Los Locos including a 3-1 win over Oakland Roots on Wednesday afternoon at Southwest University Park.

AMANDO MORENO

Moreno started October with a bang with his second brace of the season against Oakland including a Goal of the Week nominee to seal the deal. He currently sits at nine goals and four assists, both good for second for El Paso this season.

“Starting off with a goal got our team up and ready to go quickly,” Moreno said. “Towards the beginning of the season, that’s kind of how we started most games, and then with these last four or five matches, we’ve just been unlucky with a lack of concentration. It’s been tough for us, but we really didn’t try to do anything different. We just needed to lock in and keep grinding down the stretch.”

ERIC CALVILLO

Calvillo recorded a goal and an assist against Oakland on Wednesday, his second match this season with two goal contributions and second in a row with an assist. He was rested against his former club on Saturday night.

EL PASO, Texas (September 30, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Eric Calviilo earned a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 30 after his performance in a 2-2 victory against Rhode Island FC last Friday.

As the club shifted to a midfield diamond, Calvillo found success on the left side creating five chances including his first assist of the season on a set piece which found the head of Memo Diaz to tie the match before halftime. He completed 29 of 34 passes while winning four duels and two fouls.

EL PASO, Texas (September 2, 2025) – After his 100th regular season appearance in USL Championship, El Paso Locomotive FC’s Ricky Ruiz earned a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26 after his performance in a 3-3 draw against Phoenix Rising FC last Saturday.

In a wild comeback result for Los Locos, Ruiz secured his first goal and assist of the season in league play including the equalizer in the 98^th minute. He also chipped in two tackles and an interception on the defensive end while also recording a team-high 102 touches.

EL PASO, Texas (August 26, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Gabi Torres earned a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 25 after his performance in a 1-0 victory against Sacramento Republic FC last Saturday. This is Torres’ seventh Team of the Week honor in 2025, the most for the club this season.

Torres was a maestro in the midfield for Los Locos creating numerous scoring opportunities and rocketing home a loose ball in the 41^st minute for the match-winning goal. He was also active defensively winning seven duels and five fouls for Locomotive.

“I believe we are really strong when we play together,” Torres said. “We need everybody down the stretch. When we show fight on the field, it’s really difficult to play against us. Now, with ten games left in the regular season, we need to stay humble and show more consistency to get the results we need in a tough Western Conference.”

EL PASO, Texas (August 19, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Christian Sorto earned a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 24 after his two-goal performance in a 2-2 draw against Monterey Bay FC last Saturday.

In his first regular season start for Locomotive, Sorto quickly made a name for himself with a brilliant brace featuring two long-range efforts. He converted Los Locos’ first free kick of the year in the 23^rd minute which is a Goal of the Week nominee before switching to his left foot for a curler in the 59^th minute off a feed from Memo Diaz.

“It feels good to get those first two at home,” Sorto said Saturday night. “My confidence is through the roof right now which hopefully is good for the team. We need to push for the playoffs, so my goal is to help us do that.”

EL PASO, Texas (August 5, 2025) – After a record-breaking 6-0 win over Las Vegas Lights FC over the weekend, El Paso Locomotive FC had four players named as starters for the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 22. Gabi Torres, Eric Calvillo, Amando Moreno and Eric Calvillo each recorded two goal contributions en route to the largest win in club history.

GABI TORRES

Torres has been a maestro in the midfield this season for Los Locos, and Saturday night was no different. His two assists put him at six on the regular season and nine across all competitions this year breaking the club single season record previously held by James Kiffe in 2019.

ERIC CALVILLO

In Locomotive’s previous largest win in club history, Calvillo slotted home a pair of goals. As the team eclipsed that mark on Saturday night, he did the same. He was a constant presence on the ball with 70 touches while also completing 49 of 53 passes and winning four duels.

“This win gives us extreme confidence because when we play well and we’re attacking and creating chances, we want more.” Calvillo said. “We’ve been on the other end of that. Nobody cares. Nobody feels bad for you. It’s a part of the game, so it’s about continuing and thinking that the game is always 0-0.”

AMANDO MORENO

Moreno tallied a goal and an assist to give him ten total goal contributions in league play. His sixth goal matches his total from last season with three months still to play. Moreno was persistent in the attacking half winning six duels and making nine passes in the final third.

ANDY CABRERA

The club’s leading goal scorer this season found himself on the assisting end of two goals for Locomotive on Saturday night, good for his second multi-assist match of the regular season (May 16 vs. Indy Eleven). Cabrera found the feet of Calvillo in the 52^nd minute before setting up Emiliano Rodriguez in the 89^th for his first professional goal.

EL PASO, Texas (July 29, 2025) – El Paso Locomotive FC’s Gabi Torres earned a selection to the USL Jägermeister Cup Team of the Round for Round 4 after his performance in a 1-0 victory at Union Omaha last Saturday.

In his second Jägermeister Cup start of the season, Torres played a key role in Los Locos’ first win against Union Omaha. He recorded a team-high three tackles while completing 35 of 42 passes. He also made an impact on the offensive end with eight final third entries.

EL PASO, Texas (June 24, 2025) – All contributors to El Paso Locomotive FC’s goals on Saturday night were selected to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 16 with Wahab Ackwei, Andy Cabrera and Gabi Torres earning their flowers after the 2-1 road victory.

GABI TORRES

This is Torres’ fourth team of the week appearance this season which is tied with Cabrera for the team lead. He found Ackwei on a cross for his team-high fourth assist of the season. Torres also won eight duels and recorded a team-high three interceptions to extend his league lead with 25 on the season.

ANDY CABRERA

Cabrera returned to his scoring ways on Saturday converting Locomotive’s first penalty of the season in the 56^th minute. This gives the reigning USL Championship Player of the Month 10 goals in league play on the season making him the fastest player in club history to reach that mark.

WAHAB ACKWEI

After a rough outing last week, Ackwei responded with his second goal of the season and his first since his matchwinner against Hartford Athletic on March 29. He completed 47 of 52 passes while also recording a team-high eight clearances and winning two tackles.
