EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC will honor three local, environmental nonprofits for Earth Day, which will take place throughout the match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday, April 22 at Southwest University Park.
El Paso Zoo Society and Green Hope Project will be recognized during the match in honor of their environmental service to El Paso and the surrounding region. In addition, both organizations will have tables at the stadium to promote and educate El Pasoans about different ways they can get involved in community efforts and become more sustainable.

Active since 1963, the El Paso Zoo Society is vital to the growth and success of the El Paso Zoo. The Zoo Society partners with the Zoo to develop programs and engaging exhibits that promote wildlife conservation and appreciation of our planet’s global ecosystems.

The Green Hope Project has worked since 2019 to promote the intersection of art, education and environmentalism to spark positive change. From free art workshops and community cleanups to annual art competitions, Green Hope Project is dedicated to making a lasting difference in ways that are fun and educational.
Green Hope Project played a vital role in bringing world-renowned Portuguese artist Bordalo II to create the mountain lion mural made of recycled trash in Downtown El Paso.
