ID CAMPS
WHAT IS AN ID CAMP?
One of our main goals 🌟 is to discover talented players through our ID Camp sessions. If we identify a potential player, they will not be added to the Academy automatically for next year. Instead, we will invite them to train with our current Academy players ⚽. This allows us to see how they interact and fit within the team. Only after this process — and with the approval of the Academy Director 👨🏫 and coaching staff — will we make a final decision on whether to offer a spot.
Our Academy will not hold traditional tryouts 🚫.
Instead, we will host ID Camp sessions, which include a participation fee 💵. This fee reflects each player’s commitment and also helps cover field rentals, coaching, and equipment.
We call this structured approach “The Process of Identification” 🔍 — a thoughtful way to find the right players for our Academy.

Things to Know About the U20 USL Academy League Team
Our U20 USL Academy League Team is fully funded, which means players play, travel, and geared up for free –
all costs are covered by El Paso Locomotive FC.
All training sessions are in the morning.
This team serves as a Reserve Team for our professional USL Championship First Team, which means, often times players are training together with the First Team. This is also the reason why this team trains in the morning hours, so they can be matched up with our professional team.

In the last two seasons, we have had over 20 players going to college to play soccer from our U20 team. Part of this effort includes participating in numerous showcase events in order to create possibilities for our players to be seen by college coaches.
