First Stop Rec Soccer League - El Paso Locomotive FC

First Stop Rec. Soccer League offers a fun, inclusive, and safe environment with a focus on development for children ages 6 – 9 years old around the city of El Paso.
Our goal is to help young players build confidence, enhance their game, and grow their love for the game through active participation.
Players will learn the fundamentals of soccer, build teamwork, sportsmanship, and community connection.

This program offers a fun, inclusive, & safe environment with a focus on development for children ages U6-U9 years old around the city of El Paso.
Players will learn the fundamentals of soccer, build teamwork, sportsmanship & community connection growing their love for the game through active participation.

Each season is 10 weeks long, with the first two weeks of the season being dedicated to practices. And a total of 8 games. This will allow teams to get familiar with one another before their first game.
Gamedays will be on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings each week. Make up games may cause these days to vary. All games will be held at Sunland Park Sports Complex.
Practices will be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons each week. Day will be scheduled once teams get formed. Once you have your practice time & day scheduled, it will remain the same for the entirety of the season.
Meet & Greet, will be a week before the season starts. This will be an opportunity for coaches, parents & players to get to know each other. Coaches will go over expectations for the season, parents will be able to ask questions, & players will receive their Locomotive Jerseys.

Important Information
The schedule will be made based on age. Younger teams will have earlier practice slots while older teams will get later time slots. Once the schedule is set, the day and time of practice will be the same each week.

Games Schedule
Games will be played on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings and the Sunland Park Sports Complex
(4700 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM).

Practices’ Info
Practices will be on either Tuesday, Wednesdays, or Thursdays for one hour. Once the Practice locations are confirmed we will be updating everyone accordingly.

How are teams made?

To promote balanced and competitive gameplay, teams will be formed based on each player’s experience level. Every team will include a mix of more experienced and less experienced players.

This approach helps create an environment where games remain competitive, allowing all participants to be appropriately challenged. By maintaining this balance, players are better able to develop their skills, build confidence, and continue learning and growing throughout the season.

Parent expectations

Parents are encouraged to ensure their child attends all scheduled practices and games. If your child is unable to attend for any reason, please notify the coach as soon as possible so appropriate arrangements can be made.

During games, parents and spectators are asked to sit on the side of the field opposite the teams. Players and coaches will occupy the team side to allow for clear communication and to help players remain focused on the game.

At this level, a positive and supportive environment is essential. Parents are encouraged to cheer enthusiastically and respectfully. Any negative behavior—including arguing with referees, confronting other spectators, or making inappropriate comments—may result in being asked to leave the game.
