BIOGRAPHY
Chapa featured in 28 games, starting 12 and playing a total of 1,215 minutes. He added great depth and enthusiasm to the team. He completed 90.7% of his passes, in addition winning 55.6% of his tackles. Chapa’s dynamic play allowed the team to play a possession heavy attacking style of soccer that saw the team make a Western Conference Final berth. Chapa and the team look to build on that success in the 2020 season.
Louis “Chapa” Herrera was the second El Pasoan on the El Paso Locomotive roster. He played his youth with the highly regarded Texas Fire club.
Chapa piqued the interest of the Locomotive coaching staff at the Alianza de Futbol tournament in El Paso, where he was competing with a team comprised of former professional and collegiate players.
After receiving an invite to the Invitational Tryout on December 8 and 9, Chapa continued to show his prowess. Upon completion of the weekend, he was offered a contract for the inaugural 2019 season.
