Maldonado was part of a historic first for El Paso Locomotive, becoming one of the first Academy players to sign a professional contract in October 2022, alongside Locomotive midfielder Diego Abarca.
The 19-year-old appeared in six matches for El Paso last season and was a part of the 18-man roster for a large percentage of the 2022 campaign.
