Kostyshyn’s larger-than-life personality comes paired with a proven ability to create plays with great technical ability and vision, the Ukrainian midfielder will help spearhead the attack for Locomotive’s landmark fifth season.
An academy product of Ukrainian giant Dynamo Kyiv, Kostyshyn last played with FC Oleksandriya in the Ukrainian Premier League but saw great success with second division side FC Kolos Kovalivka, where he spent three seasons. In that time, Kostyshyn scored 13 goals and assisted four in 84 appearances across all competitions, including matches in the 2020/21 Europa League qualifying campaign.
Kostyshyn is one of two Ukrainians currently competing in the USL Championship, the other being Locomotive defender Artem Kholod.
